Having been a successful radio host for well over 20 years now, Howard Stern is adding to his list of thing to do as a judge on “America’s Got Talent.” What makes this an even larger announcement is that Stern will be earning 20 Million for his role on the show…..or so we think. When asked how he felt about making $20 million, Stern said “do I work for that little?” It is easy for Stern to talk so jokingly when it comes to his finances, seeing how he just recently signed a new contract with Sirius XM radio for $400 million dollars over the next five years.

“They are celebrated because they are displayed as celebrities. If they are not thus celebrated, in due time – often very short – they lose their jobs.” – C. Wright Mills
If you look at today’s entertainment industry and compare it with that of the entertainment industry 20 years ago… you will see two completely different worlds. One such show that dare I say defines our generation as far as entertainment is the gang from The Jersey Shore. So, why must they remain in the spotlight? Well… think about it… they have a lot on the line. The Jersey Shore gang, as well as many other celebrities, strive to maintain that media attention, no matter what the opinions of them are in the media, because if they don’t have that spotlight on them… their careers are over.
Even though J.R. Martinez won the title of the champion of Dancing with the Stars, Rob Kardashian came in a close second place. With both of the competitors getting 30 out of 30 for their second dance, judge Carrie Anne Inaba said “To get a 10 you have to really blow us away . . . consider me blown.”
The season premiere date of Jersey Shore has been released and is rumored to be January 5, 2012. After spending their last season in Italy, the gang will return to the Shore in Seaside Heights this time. It has been said this season includes drama between Snooki and the Situation, as well as Vinnie possibly leaving the show for good.
To describe what makes up the world of a celebrity you simply need one word, everything. Ashton Kutcher got an 87 word article on People Magazine’s website about how he was at a product launch event for Warby Parker Eyewear. And that was it, he didn’t get drunk, arrested, or into a fight. He simply made an appearance, tweeted a picture, and went home. Why is this worthy of a news story? Because Ashton is a hot celebrity that if his name is there the public will read.
Glee has become a number 1 television hit pushing ethical boundaries. The show promotes a gay lifestyle in a positive light. The highly controversial ethical issue of same sex relationships has advanced greatly over the past few years. This issue is making great strides in the media making its way into Hollywood.
Maury Paul was the first journalist to write under the byline of Cholly Knickerbocker as society editor and writer of a syndicated daily gossip column. The column discussed the lives of the metrapolitan 400 or social elite of New York City. This history can be seen today on the CW’s hit television show Gossip Girl.
The Kardashian brand has become a household name since Paris Hilton introduced Kim Kardashian into the socilite scene. Kim was gained her first moment of stardom due to her sex tape with R&B artist Ray J in 2007, although this may not have been her brightest moment it definetly lit the spark for stardom.
The celebrities are the Names that need no further identification.- Mills
Four years later the Kardashian brand and influence has spread from Reality Television to perfume brands, and clothing lines. The success is admirable, yet my only question is, What made the Kardashian family famous? Was it Kim K’s scandle or was it Kim’s first apperance out with Paris Hilton?
Whatever they do has publicity value. More or less continuously, over a period of time, they are the material for the media of communication and entertainment.- Mills
Regardless of what brought stardom to the Kardashian family or any other socilite what they do matters, and ends up at the table conversation for most families at the end of the day.
