Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag were reality stars, until some new reality shows were presented to MTV and The Hills was no longer a money maker. They shaped their lives to fit a interesting storyline for TV, and in doing so ruined their lives in the actual reality they lived in. The couple dubbed as Speidi never actually split up, and were never really the terrible people The Hills fans thought they were. They were truthfully just yound adults taking advantage of an opportunity to propel their careers and fame. Unfortunately, the market of reality TV changes often and they were off the main stage sooner then they had hoped. They remained celebrities for the simple fact people knew who they were, still able to attend premieres and awards shows and be stopped on the red carpet. But being known is not the same as being employed, and the fake life Speidi chose to live on the screen became their real life. Their unlikeable characters were not what companies and producers wanted associated with their products. The couple wasted their fame before they knew they would soon be forgotten and their last place in the news became their obituaries as celebrities.
“They are celebrated because they are displayed as celebrities. If they are not thus celebrated, in due time – often very short – they lose their jobs.”
